Hey everyone. Welcome to my first article for Magical Stage. My name is Rosie Sievers also known as RosePal on YouTube who did videos on My Little Pony Friendship is Magic and nowadays I’ve been focusing on cartoons and anime especially magical girls. Have you seen an episode or a film that has moments that make your heart feel warm and fuzzy inside? Like how your favourite couple profess their love for each other? Or seeing a character you follow achieve their dream? Well that’s what I’m going to share today. I’m giving you my picks for the top 10 Heartwarming Moments In Precure. I have chosen both episodes and films for this list, some of them are even my all time favourite episodes. Also major spoilers ahead. So let’s dive in and see which moments I really love the most.

#10 Everyone Becomes A Cure From Hugtto Precure Episode 48
If our heroines can become Cures, then why not everyone, that actually happens during the final battle with George Kurai in Hugtto Precure. The Hugtto Precure team gave everything they had to save their town as well as the future from becoming frozen and with despair. Luckily all the supporting characters as well as the reformed Crisasu villains cheered them on. As thanks for their courage the Cures shared their power with them to have everyone become Cures themselves. This was a fantastic moment since we were in the 15th anniversary season at the time so why not celebrate it for the final time with everyone getting involved including the final attack. Of course we knew about Henri becoming Cure Infini in a previous episode but seeing everyone in their Cure forms had really good designs. Dr Traum’s robot cure form made me laugh so hard.

#9 Mashiro’s Picture Book Arc from Hirogaru Sky Precure Episodes 20, 34, 41 & 43
Mashiro aka Cure Prism is my favourite Precure of all time and her arc of creating her very own picture book is one of the reasons why. With her friends already working towards their own dreams, Mashiro wonders what her dream is going to be. She decided to enter a picture book contest and got the materials to do so. Although she doesn’t win the first one, she continues finding inspiration wherever she sees it. She finds an unlikely source in Battamonda who during this arc was in his human form. Mashiro’s skills develop as the arc goes on which leads to my favourite episode in this arc. Mashiro enters another competition, this time writing a story about a leaf who wants to explore its horizons. She hits her low point when Battamonda reveals himself and destroys her drawings. But when he gets controlled by Underground Energy thanks to Skearhead, Mashiro finds her courage to bring light to everyone around her and even Battamonda. During this moment she gives one of the best lessons in the franchise being the best part of ourselves is for us to decide. That message was the inspiration she needed to finish her story, the leaf can be its own person and explore its own path, through swimming in the river to flying through the sky. And that wins the competition. If that’s achieving your dream I don’t know what will.

#8 Extraordinary! Door of Courage from Yes Precure 5 Episode 20
Oh Urara you legend. Not only were you the first official yellow cure of the franchise, but also the first cure to become an idol. Her episode of making her singing debut was definitely inspiring. Especially when she took the stage singing her iconic character piece Extraordinary Door Of Courage. Upbeat, catchy and giving the kirakilala energy. Yeah I had to say Uta’s catchphrase here. It was also heartwarming to see her friends perform with her as her backup singers and dancers. They even wore the outfits they wear in the second ending, really symbolizing their unity and friendship. This song brought everyone smiles and had Urara deciding to become an idol as well as an actress. Her mother will be proud. Speaking of singing with smiles.

#7 Uta Singing ♪HiBiKi Au Uta♪ from You & Idol Precure: For You! Our KiraKilala Concert!
You & Idol Precure was a fantastic season despite its flaws but the movie was at its best. The girls go to an island for an Idol festival but get caught up in a time travelling conflict when mysterious creatures attack. The girls go back in time and meet Tera who is a girl who doesn’t like idols at first. In reality she is the fragment of the island goddess Amasu, who is the tragic villain of the movie after her idol known as Utako didn’t come back years ago because, spoiler alert, she had passed away. Uta along with Meroron hang out with Tera and convince her to give idols a chance. We get the beautiful scene where Uta sings the main movie theme song, Hibiki Au Uta in the starry night sky. This song shows Tera that idols are worth seeing and hearing as Uta’s feelings reach out. As the lyrics go, no matter how alone you are in the world, past, present and future, the shining light will always be there to lift you up. The song also plays a part in the climax where the Cures sing it together to free everyone who had been turned to stone but reuniting with Tera in her spirit form. This will give you feelings of kirakilala.

#6 Everyone’s The Main Character! It’s Our Stage!! from Heartcatch Precure Episode 36
Now here is one of the iconic scenes in all of Precure. The fashion show from Heartcatch. I rewatch this scene over and over again. Not to mention we get the iconic song, Heart Goes On with two of the iconic Precure singers Aya Ikeda and Mayu Kudo who also guest starred in this episode singing it live. It perfectly finished one of the main story arcs in the show with Tsubomi, Erika, Itsuki, Yuri and the other members of the fashion club having their moment in the spotlight. All of the fashion they made throughout was really fun and creative and really proved the effort was all worthwhile. Really set the stage for what was to come after this point especially with the amazing power up arc. Tsubomi really came out of her shell at this point after everything she had been through with making new found friends who accepted her for who she was along with the beautiful dress she had made. Also with Ikeda and Kudo gaining their courage to perform after getting stage fright earlier on was the icing on the cake. I need to listen to this song again now.

#6 Meroron’s Friend & Pretty Cure! Kirakkiran・For・You! from You & Idol Precure Episodes 29 & 30
Meroron had a fantastic character arc especially during her joint 6th ranger arc with Purirun. Things got pretty emotional because of one question that has been on our minds at that time. What did Meroron sacrifice to become Cure Kiss? Well in one of the best two part episodes in the franchise we finally got that answer. We all thought she sacrificed a future with Purirun. But it turned out it was more to it than that, in fact it was pretty vague. But thanks to Nana, Meroron stated what she really wanted, to have a future with everyone, the girls and Purirun. It was fantastic that Nana was the MVP of this arc as she saw the signs that Meroron really wanted friends. But as a consequence of finally revealing what she sacrificed, Meroron was trapped in the Heart Kiraki Lock. The other girls and Purirun try to save her whilst dealing with Jogi and the monster they were fighting. Meroron came face to face with her dark self. Her dark self taunted her on her past actions saying Purirun will be taken away from her and she will never be friends with anyone. But in a powerful heartwarming moment, Meroron stated that she was the reason she didn’t become proper friends with Uta, Nana and Kokoro. She was the one who held back and she hated that part of herself. She will never be like the Dark Meroron. Her feelings reached out to the girls through connected ribbons and broke free of the prison, aiming to be the friend that she always wanted to be. Everyone was relieved and overjoyed to see her and after transforming into Cure Kiss and Cure Zukyoon, Meroron’s act gave the girls a new power, the Kirakkiran Ribbon Baton as well as a new song, Sing A Ribbon With You. This fully united the team and Meroron’s future was brighter than ever.

#5 Twinkle Stars from Star Twinkle Precure: Wish Upon A Song Of Stars
Have you ever wondered how your song literally creates a new planet with an alien creature you just met? Well this scene from the Star Twinkle movie shows how experiences and memories create a whole new world as well as saving your friend from their darkness. After regretting for showing her anger towards UMA, as well as her fear of saying goodbye, Lala along with her friends try to save their new friend from going out of control. Lala and Hikaru started singing the song that Hikaru sang earlier on in the film Twinkle Stars, with a gorgeous duo transformation in real time. Then they are soon joined by Elena, Madoka and Yuni. All the memories they shared with UMA from seeing interesting landmarks to seeing the ocean as well as the animals helps calm UMA down but also help it create its new planet. This whole sequence was absolutely gorgeous from beginning to end with both 2D and 3D animation, the harmonies between the Cures and of course the music and dance choreography. This has created quite a masterpiece for a movie musical number. With how this movie ended, I’m sure the girls will see UMA and its planet again someday. Maybe for its own sequel season I wonder.

#4 Cure Mofurun from Mahou Tsukai Precure Miraculous Transformation! Cure Mofurun!
Well this move must have been inspired by the Sailor Moon S movie, where Luna had her own magical transformation. Mofurun, one of the best fairies in the franchise, finally becomes her own Precure, Cure Mofurun. She even became the main focus of this movie. This happens after her desire to protect her friends when they were held captive by Kumata in his Dark Matter form, the Wishing Stone activates and gives her magical transformation. Everything about this was exciting for us Precure fans and all of her fights both solo and with the Cures in the climax, really proved she was a great fighter. They even brought her back for Mirai Days in the final episode. You know what they say wishes can come true.

#3 Friends Forever From Wonderful Precure Episode 45
This episode was definitely a tear jerker in a variety of ways but the ending of the episode was also heartwarming at the same time. It also served as the perfect conclusion to both Iroha and Torame’s character arcs. After the dog Fuku owned by one of the three amigas (thank Leo aka Magical Cinnamon for that) dies in the previous episode, Iroha is really having a difficult time accepting this loss. You can’t blame her for this because she will have to face this with Komugi someday. Everyone helps out to comfort her including Komugi giving her a comforting hug and Satoru wanting to help her out like the perfect boyfriend he is. We will get to that later. Meanwhile Torame has run out of the GaruGaru eggs and has to make his final act in town. Then the episode takes a surprising turn when the Cures show up and want to be proper friends with him by inviting him to play. This reveals what Tomare was after all this time, friendship. So they play a huge game of tag throughout the woods and Tomare is actually having the time of his life as he always wanted to do this with his pack. Then after he feels happy, his gem which is actually the shard of the Niko Diamond is purified and he starts to fade away. Iroha is full of emotions again but Torame tells her this, “Let me hear your voice.” He states her catchphrase as Cure Friendy. He tells her he will be okay and he is sure she and the other cures will reach Gaou in the same way. Iroha tearfully and happily states she will help him out and reaffirms her dream of making friends with all animals. This leaves Torame with a smile on his face and the Cures purify him and his spirit passed on leaving his statue behind. The episode ended with Iroha placing his statue at the shrine and giving him flowers as well as leaving some for Fuku. Friends may come and go but the memories are still there.

#2 Debut! Star Detective Precure from Star Detective Precure Episode 1
At the time of writing, Star Detective Precure has aired its first arc and had the recent debut of Luluka aka Cure Arcana Shadow and what a premiere episode it was. Everything fell into place right from the get go, especially the friendship between Anna aka Cure Answer and Mikuru aka Cure Mystique. After accidentally traveling back to the year 1999 thanks to the space time fairy Pochitan, Anna immediately makes friends with Mikuru outside the detective agency where Mikuru was taking her first step towards being a detective. You can see right away they make great friends as well as being a fantastic duo especially when they get involved in their first mystery, a missing tiara at a wedding. They go through various avenues of trying to find the tiara, but Mikuru reaches her first low point when she struggles to come up with a resolution. Even though they just met, Anna helps her solve the case after she teaches about taking the first step when they are stuck on finding the answer and finding Mikuru’s ribbon when it flies into a bush. It’s then they successfully find the tiara and perfectly lead up to them being Precures for the first time. Although the Phantom Thieves might get away with stealing treasures, Anna and Mikuru as Answer and Mystique will get them back as well as the Makoto Jewels and solving cases. From the jump these two have really influenced each other in every way and I can’t wait to see how they develop as the series continues.

#1 A Special Kind Of Wonderful from Wonderful Precure Episode 36
Yeah, I’m not going to lie, I had to put this at the top spot. This scene in fact this whole episode had my heart beaming from when it first aired. For the first time in Precure history, we had our first proper couple in the franchise, Iroha and Satoru. And oh boy was it satisfying with the perfect build up from the very first episode until now. Satoru confessed his feelings to Iroha, after a certain sheep couldn’t keep his mouth shut. Iroha understandably was shocked and confused by this. Throughout the episode she struggled with her own feelings as she didn’t know all this time Satoru loved her. Luckily with the help from Mayu, Komugi, Yuki and her mum she understood her feelings. After the best chase of the season after Satoru was taken hostage by Zakuro, everything was made crystal clear. Iroha was grateful for everything that Satoru did for her including when he helped with information about the different animals they saved throughout the season. Then as the sun sets, she says these words to Satoru, “You are my special wonderful.” To put it simply, she reciprocated her feelings for Satoru. Satoru was happy he heard Iroha say she loved him back and as we see through the final cour of the season, they started dating, from spending a day at the aquarium and giving each other Christmas presents. Everything about this episode including Iroha’s confession was perfect, the characters, the writing, the music and the amazing animation. What more could you want?
