Hello everyone, welcome to this special update announcement article from me. Hopefully you all liked the return of Definitive Anime Review with Issue #1. More issues will appear sort of regularly for that so if you enjoyed the albeit long(ish) read, do look forward to more 100% truthful exploits from me.
Though I don’t think that’s exactly why you’re all here. You see in the last month, while not many articles were being released and I was busy researching the impact of anime in South Korea, Magical Stage was visited by what can only be described as a force of nature. A journalistic talent that quite frankly, is unparalleled. Her name, is Masuko Mii.
Meet Masuko Mii!
Masuko Mii (増子美依) is an ace witch journalist who hails from the Witch World and is well known for being the most powerful journalist that has ever journalisted.
She has travelled through the portal into the Human World, in order to find out the truth here too! She’ll uncover scoops, carry out ground breaking research without breaking a sweat!
Her Miracle Pencil allows her to write stories in a flash. Once Mii-chan puts pencil to paper, a burst of magic happens and then suddenly, a scoop appears! Just don’t tell her to draw something. Her art isn’t winning any awards any time soon!
Mii-chan also has her Spiral Glasses which allows her to see scoops from miles away, even those that are hidden from what we can see! It also makes her look like a bit of a nerd, but that’s OK. Though when we brought her to an ice cream parlour, the excitement of seeing so many scoops sent her into a frenzy. Need to remember that someone asking Mii “how many scoops” was going to be too much for her. She likes strawberry ice cream by the way!
Mii’s Tap on her dress allows her to summon her Poron just like other witches and do the usual witchy shenanigans. She does promise to use her powers to further her journalistic career but I did catch her trying to summon espressos behind my back.
Sometimes though, when Mii-chan is chasing a story she gets super sketchy. From what I’ve seen so far, that’s when she’s capable of the most journalisms per second. The truth isn’t far away when your outlines get thicker!
Anyway, Masuko Mii is Magical Stage’s official mascot character now! She hopes that you all treat her kindly and that you all support her in her dream to be the Human World’s best journalist!

Masuko Mii is our mascot character and we got none other than ace animator and good friend ani to design her! I honestly couldn’t be happier with the incredible work he did to bring our cute mascot into reality.
ani’s worked as a Key Animator and 2nd Key Animator on several different anime including Wonder Egg Priority and Bocchi the Rock! He’s an excellent artist and I’d highly recommend following him and keeping up with his exploits!
Masuko Mii is the face of Magical Stage and represents how Magical Stage aims to be a fun place for cool anime writing!

I’ll take this last part of the article to say that Magical Stage’s mission to be the place where cool writing about anime is, is still alive and kicking. I want to get cool anime writing off of Twitter and other social media and back onto the blogs! It’s good to have a mascot and she seems to fit the vibe. I also still want to see her own art even if it wouldn’t win any awards.
